EAL

Since October 2016 we have introduced a dedicated EAL site based at our premises at Worsfold House (Mitcham). We have dedicated staff who support learners from abroad and those whose first language is not english. Courses include accreditation from the Princes Trust and Life in the UK.

All students are taught Literacy and Numeracy with usage of ICT. In addition they are taught life skills which enables;

  • Students to accept responsibility for their behaviour, show initiative, and understand how they contribute positively to the lives of those living and working in the locality and to society more widely
  • Provide students with a broad general knowledge of public institutions and services in England
  • To assist students to acquire an appreciation of and respect for their own and other cultures, in a way that promotes tolerance and harmony between different cultural traditions.
  • To encourage the students to respect the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect, and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.
